Hey everyone! Matt here rounding out the books I bought during week two of the DC relaunch. One of these books disappointed me slightly, one had me intrigued with the last page while the other one was better than I expected. Listen to find out which is which!

Matt ans Opey are two of the biggest blink-182 fans you’ll find and have been since the release of Dude Ranch in 1997. So you can imagine their excitement when blink-182′s first new album in eight years, Neighborhoods, was released yesterday. Is this the same blink-182 that Matt and Opey have loved all these years? How do they rate this album against all other blink-182 albums before it? Listen and find out!

Running late once again, this time I take a look at a couple more new DC books that came out last week with Green Lantern #1 and Mister Terrific #1. Green Lantern was a no-brainer but Mister Terrific was a complete impulse buy, and I thought it was a pretty solid book.

I’m a little late with my review for these two books as they actually came out last week. Still, I really want to offer up some opinions of all the new DC books I’m buying so I figured better late than never. These are two very solid books that deserve a mention.

Hey everyone! Matt here again continuing my look at some of the DC New 52 books. This time I’m covering Action Comics #1 and Green Arrow #1. I was actually surprised with how much I enjoyed one of these and with how much one was just completely average. Give this episode a listen to see which is which.

I know this is coming out about a week late but a little thing called Dragon*Con caused us to have to change a lot of our plans last week. Still, I wanted to spend a few minutes talking about the two issues that lead us into the DC Reboot, Flashpoint #5 and Justice League #1. I’m going to cover as many of the New 52 books as I can throughout the month of September so be sure to keep checking back each week!

Fulfilling the challenge issued by Matt in episode 79, we finally record the pilot for a new podcast idea we had where we watch bad movies and narrate them for the listener. Think audio books only with movies instead of books. Keep in mind that this is just a test run and just because the idea was good doesn’t mean the execution is. We still thought we owed it to ourselves to give it a shot, and we’ll definitely be looking to you, our loyal fans, to offer up some feedback.

This evening we were lucky enough to have Cindy Bowens, Director of Community for Trions Worlds North America, join us to talk about RIFT and its ever-growing community. She also talked to us about how she turned what she loved into a career (we’re still working on that) and also her history with MMOs. A BIG thanks to Cindy as she was a great guest and we really enjoyed having her on.

We have a very special Geek Byte for you today as not only do we give our opinion of the excellent X-Men: First Class but we’re also joined by the post-production supervisor on the film, Chris Dowell, who gives us some interesting information about it as well. We’re very honored and thankful to have Chris on as he helped make this our best Geek Byte to date!

Matt and Dan ventured out in the cold to hit the theaters for a viewing of Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan. Is it just a silly ballerina movie or something much more? We think you already know the answer but go ahead and give a listen to see what the guys have to say about it.

Hot on the heels of yesterday’s Geek Byte about the Social Network comes another one about Tron Legacy! Matt and Dan get together and butt heads about this better-late-than-never sequel to 1982′s Tron. Who liked it and who didn’t? You’ll find out soon enough. Don’t forget to let us know your thoughts!

Although the Social Network hit theaters last November, it’s getting quite a bit of recognition again with its Golden Globe award for Best Picture (among others) and its likely Academy Award nominations. More importantly, Dan watched it recently so he and Matt thought this would be a great time to offer up some thoughts on it. Give a listen and let us know if you agree (we’re sure you will).

Spoiler alert! Last night saw the end of an era as the season finale of Lost aired. Everybody and their mother is weighing in on it and we didn’t want to be any different. It’s been over a week since Iron Man 2 was released and we’re just now offering up our thoughts on this movie. You’ll hear that we’re kind of all over the place with our thoughts during this Geek Byte but that’s only because we’ve already talked about it so much, and that’s only because we loved it so much. What did you think of the movie?

Some would say that we’ve beaten the proverbial horse to death with this but since Dan and Matt recorded Geek Byte #8 Opey had the chance to see the movie and wanted to weigh in with this thoughts. We also have a special guest for this one!

At long last, Kick-Ass has finally hit theaters. Matt and Dan were able to go see it over the weekend and definitely have some thoughts about it. We absolutely love the comic but did we love the movie? Listen and find out.

Matt takes a few minutes out of his busy schedule (what he’s so busy doing we’re not really sure) to offer up a few thoughts about the newest DC animated film Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths. Yes it was released five weeks ago (curse you Netflix/Warner Bros. deal) but it’s so good that he wanted to make sure that this didn’t fall off of anyone’s radar.

It took us longer than we thought but you knew it would happen: We finally offer up our thoughts on the final issue of the Geek Bits-favorite comic book Kick-Ass. Listen for Matt and Dan’s thoughts on the book and stick around at the end for a special treat from Dan the Man himself.

We’ll admit, Bayonetta was not on our list of games we were looking forward to in 2010. Heck, it wasn’t even on our list of games for 2010. Still, Matt and Dan tried out the demo and it may have just been enough to get added to the list of games they’re excited for.

The Dark Void demo hit the Xbox Live Marketplace and PSN a few days ago. This is a game that the Geek Bits guys have had on their radars for a while. Listen as Matt and Dan reveal their impressions of the demo and if they’re still excited for this game.

Today was a big day for comics as DC announced Brightest Day, the event that will follow Blackest Night. Small pieces of information regarding this event have been released all day and will continue to be released all week. We won’t go into the details here since you probably already know them all if you’re interested in this but Matt did take the time to reveal his thoughts on DC’s big 2010 event.

You knew it had to happen: Hall of Fame Geek Bits topic Kick-Ass gets an entire Geek Byte devoted to it and it’s only our second one! The official full-length Kick-Ass trailer the internet today and the guys were all over it like the thugs were on Kick-Ass the first time he went out and tried to…never mind.
