Episode 36 – Happy Anniversary!

Exactly one year ago today (well, the day we recorded this) the first episode of Geek Bits was recorded. Some would say that history was made that day, and those people would be correct. We spend a little time talking about our favorite moments from the past year and then we get down to business by talking about the first day’s worth of news from the San Diego Comic-Con (our full coverage will be next week) and then we talk about behind-the-scenes video from the upcoming Walking Dead television series and the Starcraft II Ghost of the Past trailer. Opey then asks our opinions of 3D TV and Matt continues discussion of franchise adaptations by asking what franchise would make a good TV show. Here’s to another great year of Geek Bits!

Episode 35 – The Return

We are whole again this week as Opey returns to the fold to ask, “Is technology hurting the kids?” We also examine Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern, discuss the first few weeks of OnLive and take a look at the cast of the Walking Dead. We also measure the worth of some of the services we pay for while Matt and Opey offer up some parenting advice, because that’s what we do (?).

Episode 34 – Opeless

This week’s episode is a little bit more intellectual than most of our other episodes, mainly because Opey was not with us. Ah, who are we kidding? We sound just as dumb whether he’s on the show or not. Even though Opey was absent we still managed to talk about the influence of video game reviews, a new distribution pact that brings better streams to Netflix users, and the top 10 games of the year so far. Matt then picks everyone’s brain by asking what franchises would make a good MMO.

Episode 33 – Why So Angry?

Things get back to normal this week after last week’s whirlwind of gaming information that was E3 2010. It takes us a few minutes to get back into the regular swing of things but we eventually get adjusted back as we talk about DC’s new digital comics service(!) and Xbox 360 bundles and price cuts. We still talk a bit about E3, specifically the five most terrible moments of it in Dan’s Secret Topic, while Opey asks why games nowadays are so expensive and Matt wants to know what 80s movies (or earlier) still hold up.

Episode 32 – We at GB Talk E3

As if there were any doubt, we’re talking E3 2010 this week. We’ve taken in so much information over the last few days and we mentioned so many games during this show that we thought it might be easier if instead of the usual information we post below we just give you links to some great E3 coverage on other sites. Use those for news and listen to this episodes for our opinions of that news because we know that’s what you really care about.
